PDi have been engaged by Spirit Energy (formerly Centrica) to support the A-Fields Late Life Strategy and Decommissioning Project.
This work scope initially considered placing A-fields into lighthouse mode but this was discounted as a viable option during the option screening process and it was decided that A-fields would be fully decommissioned in a single campaign. Providing a multi-discipline team, PDi’s support has and continues to include Front end and regulatory support taking the project from concept through to execution.
Front End: • Liability Estimates • Option selection studies to develop most suitable options and cost modelling • Scheduling and Methodology for facilities decommissioning • Support in transition of duty holder • Safety case modification.
Regulatory: • Inventory / data gathering and validation • Survey and analysis • Decommissioning Programme development • Engineering support activities in preparation for Comparative Assessment and option selection • Comparative Assessment preparation studies and co-ordination of Comparative Assessment • Stakeholder Engagement.
Execution: • Ongoing support for the planning and execution of future decommissioning operations • Controls and monitoring reconfiguration engineering and management • Transition support for operations and maintenance model • Delivery of additional technical supporting documentation, including the following: • Pipeline burial status review • Burial equipment study • Corrosion and long-term protection assessment • Flushing and conditioning philosophies for subsea and topside infrastructure • Controls and monitoring • Structural integrity review of topsides and jackets • Isolation and disconnection • Scope of work preparation and Safety case modifications • Discipline Engineering and Contractor Management • W2W campaign management • Platform and Subsea facilities removal management.
